All-On-4 Dental Implants

Montgomery Oral & Facial Surgery is proud to provide oral surgery for All-On-4® Dental Implants, an innovative approach to full arch dental implants that minimizes invasive surgery. The All-On-4 procedure places an entire arch of teeth on just four dental implants, reducing the number of implants while giving you a complete set of upper or lower replacement teeth.

What is Special About All-On-4®?

All-On-4 is a same-day surgical procedure placing four titanium implants into the jawbone to support a full arch of replacement teeth. This reduces the cost of surgery and the chances of any complications. Fewer incisions and less disruption of the jawbone also mean quicker recovery, less pain, and less swelling than with individual implants for each tooth.

Is All-On-4 Like Dentures?

Not at all! While the upper or lower arch of replacement teeth may resemble dentures, they perform quite differently. The arch is permanently attached to the titanium implants in the jawbone for teeth that look, function, and feel like natural teeth. Unlike dentures, you do not remove the arch for cleaning at night. All-On-4 arches do not need relining or reshaping, so there are no recurring costs down the road. Once your replacement teeth are attached to the four implants, you can enjoy life without worrying about slipping dentures or avoiding certain foods. You will forget you even have the implants!

Are All-On-4 Implants Appropriate for Me?

If you are in good overall health without any dental disease, you may be a candidate for All-On-4 implants. However, you may not be a candidate if you have certain bleeding disorders, uncontrolled diabetes, or cancer. These conditions delay healing and can lead to serious complications.

Even if you have been told in the past that dental implants may not work for you because you have some jawbone deterioration, talk to us. During the All-On-4 procedure, the titanium posts can be angled to take advantage of the healthy areas of the jawbone for stability and support. This also reduces the need for bone grafting before placing the implants.

The All-On-4 Process

At your initial appointment, 3D digital images of your oral cavity, remaining teeth, and jawbone are taken. These images are used to determine the optimal placement of the implants. On the day of surgery, any remaining teeth are extracted, and the area is thoroughly cleaned. Digital images and a surgical guide are used to precisely place the implants, then the gums are sutured. There is only one surgery, and you walk out of our office with a temporary prosthetic. Over the next six months, the implants fuse to the jawbone. Once the area is completely healed, the permanent arch of replacement teeth is attached.
